I am right there with you on your thoughts about our leadership team. They really lean into the “Symetra Empowers” spirit by empowering employees across the organization. I understand what you mean about systems needing an update, but please note that in recent years we’ve replaced many legacy systems and it continues to be a priority related to achieving operational efficiency.

Pros

Great ceo, benefits and pto are good. Pay is decent. Great bonuses.

Cons

You have to FIGHT to keep your job. You may be a good employee and show up everyday, however, their quality scoring system is horrible!! They set you up to fail, it’s like they want you to fail! Management doesn’t care and they do NOT seem to get it. Sure, the bonuses can be great, but they don’t matter if you don’t have a job later on due to bad quality and their terrible quality program.

I’m sorry to read that you felt this way about your time with us. Symetra aims to empower its employees, not to set them up for failure. I understand that case manager work can be stressful. The quality scoring system you mention is thorough, but it’s intended to help us meet customer and/or compliance regulations.

It’s not often that I see empathy listed in these reviews, but I am so happy you mentioned it. Empathy is woven into the Symetra Empowers Strategic vision and our Leadership Commitments. We’ve seen many positive changes in recent years, but I understand from an employee perspective that it can be frustrating when change takes longer than we’d like.
