Thank you for taking the time to share your views and experience with us. It is so important that we hear your individual voice, to learn what you are enjoying but also where you think we can improve.
We especially love receiving reviews from colleagues who have been developing their careers in the company over the years and who have experienced the transformational changes that will drive the company forward and help us achieve collective success. It is delightful to read that you are happy with the work life balance at Symphony RetailAI. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is to value what we have and to make the most of it. Finding a balance between work and home life is vital.
We loved seeing that you are experiencing recognition from your colleagues and management. Our culture is built on working collaboratively and being able to recognise every person’s contribution. We are proud that we can demonstrate every employee’s value through a number of different initiatives: we can share our gratitude through our “thanks” tool in our HR system and nominate colleagues in the monthly Employer Recognition Awards. In 2021 we launched our newest award: The Team Brilliance Award. Bringing people together to share knowledge and support each other helps us drive these positive behaviours and ensure that teams are able to enjoy success together. We hope that you are contributing to the Thanks tool and recognising your colleagues, if you’re unsure where to find this, please ask a local member of your HR team.
We have focused considerably on training managers to be stronger at evaluating performance with a key focus on developing and supporting the growth of their teams so it was great to see that you have witnessed this in practice. You may recall that we launched quarterly check-ins at the start of 2022 (replacing the annual performance review) as we believe regular conversations will provide the most valuable platform to discuss performance and keep the dialogue flowing. We have received a lot of positive feedback since we moved to this model and would love to hear how you are finding it too. You can update your local HR team member or send us an email to GlobalHR@symphonyretailai.com at any time.
Since we launched Cornerstone as our HR and Learning Management System in 2019, we have been able to demonstrate our commitment to learning through the curation of various learning and training tools. We are proud of employees’ overall attitude to learning. Colleagues are accessing online recorded sessions, creating learning content or attending the live sessions that we deliver. Since 2020, we have been running highly popular Learning at Work Week programmes. These programmes have concentrated on a selection of topics that we believe will be useful, topical and innovative. From sessions with external training companies to help us achieve a Growth Mindset or to “Flip” our thinking, to buddying with colleagues to facilitate stronger internal working relationships as well as knowledge sharing. We are already working on Learning at Work Week activities for 2022. Watch out for the announcements in the coming months!
We hope you enjoyed the various “Deep Dive” sessions that we ran during May to provide all employees with the strategy sessions on our products and business focus. We ensured that these were recorded if you were unable to attend these live. Please speak with HR if you are unable to locate them in Cornerstone. The feedback and interest in these sessions was so encouraging that we plan to run these on a regular basis going forward to ensure that everyone in the company at all levels is aware of the business goals and delivery expectations. We hope that you could see that senior management is 100% focused on the company priorities around development and delivery. We will continue to ensure that messages continue to be conveyed across the organisation and we would welcome any suggestions you have to help us improve this further.
Hopefully these “Deep Dive” sessions have also provided you with some insights into our customer commitments. Customer delivery will always be a top priority for Symphony RetailAI. It would be helpful to understand your comment “over commitment and less delivery” so we can explore this with you and provide a more suitable response. You might find it helpful to review our customer promise https://www.symphonyretailai.com/about/ which talks about our commitment to innovation and delivering the best quality and customer service. We believe that these elements are critical for our success; if all of us put the customer promise at the heart of what we do, we will “win together” – which is one of our core company values. If you are concerned about the balance between commitment and delivery, please don’t hesitate to speak with your manager or a local member of the HR Team. You can always raise a query by emailing us at GlobalHR@Symphonyretailai.com or directly to our Chief People Officer, Sam Sheriff on sam.sheriff@symphonyretailai.com
We are sorry to hear that you feel that the salary is low. We regularly benchmark salaries against the market to ensure that we are abreast of the latest trends and at the start of 2022 we purchased the most up to date tool to enable us to gather more in depth insights into compensation trends. We try our best to maintain the most competitive compensation possible for a company of our size. It is important to consider remuneration packages in their entirety, here at Symphony RetailAI we invest heavily in our people and believe in ensuring everyone receives a comprehensive range of benefits to support them in life. Our benefits include (but are not limited to) private heath cover, company contributions to retirement plans, generous paid time off, fitness and tuition reimbursement schemes, loyalty and spot awards. If you are unsure that you are making the most of the benefits available, please check details on Cornerstone or contact one of your local HR team.
We are fortunate to have a business comprising some of the best minds in the industry and strong customer facing teams who are dedicated to providing high quality customer service. As mentioned, our Customer Promise is something we take very seriously. Numerous members of the organisation join a regular call; a number of our senior leadership team attend the discussions. The focus is always about the customers, what they need, how we can help, what we could change but also to share in successes. It would be helpful if you could explain your comment about doing “the client handling proper”? We have every intention to drive things forward and continue to improve but things might not always go the way we hope. If you would like more information about the Customer Promise call, please email us at GlobalHR@symphonyretailai.com and we will connect you internally with a relevant senior stakeholder so you can discuss this in more detail.
It was absolutely wonderful to see the shout out for your local India HR team. We will pass on your positive feedback! We know that they work relentlessly to provide a knowledgeable, supportive and reliable service to colleagues in India. Over the most recent years, the team has stepped in to a number of unforeseen challenges; they made themselves available at all hours of the day to help with Covid vaccinations and/or supporting families affected by the pandemic, on top of a wide range of other every day duties. It was such a pleasure to read that you found them easy to reach and helpful. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your feedback and thoughts in this review. We always endeavour to improve and will take on board your comments. We would love to hear more from you so please feel free to contact GlobalHR@symphonyretailai.com or our Chief People Officer, Sam Sheriff on sam.sheriff@symphonyretailai.com any time. We wish you continued happiness and success in your career at Symphony RetailAI.
