Pros
* Engineering organization is high quality, * Leadership is generally open about their motivations. * Remote work friendly (for now). * Pay is good. * Promotion opportunities are excellent.
Cons
* Leadership chases trends while claiming to be industry leader. * Leadership is cowardly and will not stand for principles (e.g. being scared of anti-DEI backlash even though company's core mission is to improve equity and opportunity). * Leadership is untrustworthy about hiring and many indicators of wanting to force a fully remote company into office situation, e.g. remote employee hiring was limited to expensive "core cities", then unannounced change to only hiring tech leadership from another city (again due to leadership trend-chasing). * After a wave of layoffs, finance in an all-hands meeting was openly excited and slapping themselves on the back for "right sizing" in the face of surviving employees. * Toxic positivity.
