Pros

A great place to start to get your foot in the door, looks good on a resume, "it's not what you know, it's who you know" mentality it true about getting a job or promotion, very easy job, good hours and a flexible schedule.

Cons

Pay is horrible, one tiny raise per year if you manage to get that, no end of the year bonuses, instead we got foam fingers abd a drink koozie. (I'd rather you just put the money for the her foam finger in my account). They force you to bank with them by only providing direct deposit into Synovus banks, many branches are understaffed, turn around rate is very high and customers complain about so many new hires, for a company that brings in millions the technology's seems to be from 1980, hard to get a promotion, even if you show extreme interest. Company is no longer customer oriented and now isn't all about sales. Big bank mentality with small bank resources.

Pros

20 years ago the company was fantastic and one of the best places to work, even voted by Forbes as one of the best places to work in the country. That was 20 years ago!

Cons

In the last 10+ years the company has deteriorated significantly. Corporate leadership is focused on numbers only and not people. The local leadership in the North Florida area is horrible. They are only concerned with the team members in their respective home office in Jax. The Fernandina and Yulee employees are treated like red-headed step children. They can't be trusted don't have an respect for employees or customers. Just look around at the employees who have been forced out and quit due to the horrible local leadership.

Slowly Declining

Pros

Good resources to work your way through the day 611, fellow peers, etc. Vacation time is available for part time 25+ hours (but the position requires it, does not count if your position is under and you work that many.) 401k Match. Great business hours.

Cons

The bank is starting to slip away more and more from it's values and its Customer Covenant. It's starting to become what is best for the bank or the best way to take in revenue rather that what is best for the customer when I originally began. Not much way of figuring things out for yourself. System for policies and procedures is generally hard to navigate. Lots of stress of pushing sales meeting numbers and logging calls as well as making many outbound calls. Many customers do not like this, resulting in closed accounts.
