Pros

Great resources and very knowledgeable staff. Everyone is approachable and easy to get along with and learn from.

Cons

I think with every company in the industry, the cons of working on tight budgets can be stressful.

Pros

There are still some good people there. They have a lot of knowledge and are truly experts in the field.

Cons

It pains me to write these cons. The company has changed so much for the worst. For younger engineers be advised: You will work a lot of hours and the work life balance does not exist anymore. You will get paid less and work more. They will promise you that it will get better but it doesn't. 1) No work life balance, we were working a lot of over time. They take on more jobs than they can handle and they don't have the staff for it. 2) They do not like to pay people their worth. You will put in a lot of hours and do great work, but your pay will not reflect that. They will also not promote you in a timely manner. They will say you are getting paid market rate, when in fact, you are getting paid less. You can be doing more and better work than other engineers on your level, but getting paid less than them. 3) They take on any and every job. You will have to juggle 6-10 jobs at a time with unrealistic deadlines. 4) Management are yes men, they say yes to unreasonable time tables and jobs. 5) There are PMs that shouldn't be PMs. They throw their engineers under the bus to please the clients and take the heat off of themselves. 6) During Covid they cared more about micromanaging their workers instead of protecting them from the virus. While the whole design industry was working from home, Syska forced their workers to come into the office for no reason. If workers had legitimate health concerns, they were asked to quit or a target was placed on their back. 7) They say they are diverse and inclusive. They are not. They only use it as a marketing tactic. They had an opportunity to really discuss the issues that were going on in May and June of 2020 and they said nothing. Instead of having a discussion the said they didn't want to get political about it, this is after having an online training session the week before everything happen saying that these discussion should be had to increase the awareness. 8) There are a lot of great engineers leaving because the company has become like a sweatshop for design.
