Pros

I have sat here for 30 minutes and can not think of one thing that was a positive. The best thing I learned from working there was how not to do things in every aspect of paver construction.

Cons

They expect you to close 30% of the leads they give you regardless of the quality of the lead. The majority of there leads are crap and in order to keep a 30% closing rate you must self generate leads. Their prices are at a minimum 20% higher than their competitors and their quality of work is dreadful, so it is a hard sale (Just look at Yelp). There is an ongoing joke in the office that they are a revolving door for employees and it is an absolute reality. If you sale a job the management will treat you like a human, but if you don't sale for a few days or a week, they will treat you like a pariah. I don't recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Pros

There are multiple people in the office that make +100k/yr. Quarterly incentive trips and a monthly cash bonus keep you motivated. If you're performing/selling, your manager feeds you leads and if you're not, your leads slow until you your closing percentage comes back up. It's not your normal "in home" sales job that if you don't get the sale your first visit the deal is done, they're looking for ideas for their space. About 40% of our sales come from callbacks. You get really invested in your projects and it's always great to see the finished product installed. Seem to hire fun people. Everyone on the sales floor seems to get along and enjoy working together.

Cons

Can go on streaks of crap leads and make no money. Once you sell it, you have to stay involved through entire install, as construction can take from your commissions for things you miss on jobs(measuring off, extra work needed, missed sprinklers to remove ect)... That's annoying, adds STRESS, and ultimately keeps you from doing what you were hired to do.. sell! Commission structure has had some changes over the past year. They are rewarding top performers more, but if they continue to raise product prices and make higher reach goals, they could push away a good portion of the sales team.

Pros

There was an ability to make quite a bit of money if you worked the right fair or got the right leads. You get to talk to many people that you probably wouldn't be able to talk to in a normal job. You can gain experience in sales of a difficult product and covering the negatives and adding glitz and glam to the positives.

Cons

The company is WAY overpriced and many people you talk to know this. Management is given an unsupervised iron control of employees. Current management doesn't do any research on property value or renter to owner ratio or anything that will allow the team to be successful in the long run. Manager routinely "lost" payback receipts for gas to homeshows, paid lunch, etc. A huge disconnect between higher management and direct supervisors as in no way to handle problems above the direct manager's head when situations are getting out of hand. Managers get zero management training and are just thrown into the mix to muddle their way through despite negative attitudes.
