The way things really are at T-Mobile. It isn't for everyone, but it its for you, its a great place to work.
Pros
T-Mobile is one of the best places to work in the city I live in. Whenever someone asks me where I work I take great pride in telling them. They do a great job with letting you know when they are proud of the work you do. The leadership is great and always there to help you whenever you need it and however you need it. The pay is great, and they regularly look at statistics of other similar companies in the area to make sure they have competitive pay and give us raises accordingly. T-Mobile is a pay for performance company, so your hourly rate as well as bonuses solely depend on how much effort you put into the job. At your peak, you could be making upwards of 800-1100 a month extra above your hourly pay just for the various bonuses and incentives surrounding performance. They have a "best place to work" committee and take suggestions extremely seriously and in most cases you will see a change based on feedback very quickly from small things like can openers in the lunch room to big things like serenity rooms and holidays off. Most recently, almost every holiday we get off.
Cons
The job itself is not so fun. Dealing with angry customers and being on phone calls just about all day is strenuous and tiring. T-Mobile knows this, and throws money at us to stay. At times, T-Mobile does have its "corporate" attitude towards some things as far as being extremely picky with the smallest things. A lot of the time things are done or decisions are made without having any kind of why behind the what. One goal or aspiration is "leaders coach and develop leaders," but when you try to voice your opinion about things that arent working, or give constructive critcism its more looked at as complaining than criticism. You cant say anything negative without it showing up on your review and losing you money. You have to be a different person at work than in normal life. You must always be "gung-ho" T-Mobile otherwise you will never move up in the company.
