Pros

Basic benefits package and 401k matched at 4% (other banks offer 7%)

Cons

You have to work 6 days per week with no set schedule. From the interview (worst hiring process) and throughout the training. They sell you on this workplace being a family and they are so helpful... my first week out on the floor should've given me enough red flags. We have been always short-staffed, at least 2 or 3 people quit per year. Management doesn't help you whatsoever, tells you to just look up whatever issue you have on Retail One or call Store Support. Severely understaffed on the teller side (winter is the WORST season). In my last year, I dreaded every night before having to go in the next day. After every last reason I had to quit, I still toughed it out until I couldn't. I truly feel bad for any new hires starting there soon. It helps to realize that it doesn’t make sense for you to be more invested than your manager. Remember, she just hired you to help, not the person they hired to take on 100% emotional responsibility for everything (if you were that person, you’d be getting paid a lot more).

Pros

Good pay and PTO to some extent

Cons

No clear communication or organisational structure. No room for growth unless you know the right people. With TD it is all about how it looks, they just want to look good but in reality it’s a corrupt company with corrupted processes. Toxic work environment and management style is bullying. Brainwashing and cult like culture design to create followers not leaders. They don’t care about your growth or well being all they care about is numbers.

Pros

PTO was absolutely amazing. You can only roll over 40 hours a year so you should end up taking 3-4 weeks off even in your first year. Diverse. Good culture. Ability to move up fast if you are ambitious.

Cons

Not many. I was unlucky and made one mistake on my drawer when my scanner missed one $100 check, which resulted in my termination with no warning, write up or suspension. After I made the mistake I ‘bumped it up’ to my manager, which was what you are told from day one. Being that she was a new hire with no experience on the teller line she didn’t know how to fix it. I paid the price.
