Pros

I was apart of the rotational program and it was a cool experience and I definitely learned a lot. I got to go into multiple different lines of businesses under TDAF, and understand their process and was given different responsibilities per rotation. You also get a really good understanding of what TDAF entails of and their culture. Most of the people are very nice and helpful. I enjoyed the projects that I was assigned, they were cool and interesting. Most people are very helpful and if you have any questions, they will help you out. So, the support is definitely there. They always ask you how your experience was at the end of the rotation and you get the opportunity to be honest, but also be careful with what exactly you say.

Cons

I found the program and what the work entailed of not challenging. The work I did in college was more challenging than this program. I think they underestimate what the rotational analysts can do. I would also say that the environment is not engaging. I found days to be very repetitive. In the program, the first 2 rotations you complete are required to gain a good foundation of the company. Those are structured very well. However, when you get the opportunity to choose the next ones, you can get unlucky. One of the rotations I was in was structured very poorly. Barely ever had work to do, and when it was given, it was completed within 1-2 days. The days got to be so repetitive and I would not look forward to work, unfortunately. The pay for this program is also not the best compared to their competitors. They underpay their analysts, there are other companies and banks that offer way more pay. The management positions were held by people that did not deserve to be in any leadership role. Sure they're nice, but they're not a leader. The company is very big on micromanagement, so be ready for that. They are very big on knowing where you are, why you did not go into the office that day, "away" status on teams, etc. You really have to find ways to challenge yourself in this role and company to continue on expanding your knowledge. Another point as well to mention is you may be told something in the beginning of your rotation, but once the 2 year rotational program comes to an end, what the business needs are can be different. For example, if you are to go into a certain department post rotation, do not expect it because you may not get a say. This was a little unfair because after all your hard work that you did in those 2 years (and time), you end up doing something you did not want to do at all. I personally think there are way better opportunities out there. I think if you are given the opportunity to attend in this program, I would do your homework and still continue to apply because I didn't do that and I regret it. In retail credit, I also know growth is very limited. I was told multiple times by colleagues that they would apply over and over and they were just never given the opportunity to get out of the hole they are in.
