Long hours and low pay

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

They'll take you with no experience, and even part-timers get full access to benefits. If you're still in school, they're open so much you can easily get the hours you need. If the team is good, it can be a lot of fun.

Cons

The hours are long and while they're supposed to rotate weekends, not all branches do. The pay is very low considering how awful some of their hours are and I expect them to lose a lot of really talented people when the economy improves.

Banks

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

Gives back to the community and supports human rights groups.

Cons

The bank is open all holidays except 4 (Christmas, Easter, New Years & Thanksgiving). Employees have to use PTO days for these 4 holidays. The pay is not competitive. The pay is low.

Pros

Major brand, good opportunities, above average compensation. Excels in retail banking.

Cons

Large-corporation culture and mentality is not very conducive of creative thinking and cutting edge innovation. Takes too long to make things happen.
