Pros

They PAID for many years to be on Fortune Magazine’s best places to work, it got them noticed. When the Lowe Family was here, they actually cared about their workers and reputation. Now the family is gone, outsiders are eradicating their legacy.

Cons

Consistent and significant turnovers 400+ a year because of broken career paths, training and incredibly toxic culture. We do not promote from within anymore, keep up with training skills in any department. Some of our VPs, Directors and Managers are now allowed to manage with their emotions, not what’s best for the company as a whole. Our Core Values and Servant Leadership once made us unique, now it’s turned into a meaningless slogan that no one truly practices in leadership roles. It is not used in evaluations, promotions or internal hiring. Adding the uncultivated and lawless corporate HR department, that’s managed like a teenager’s reality show would be an immense start for change and forward thinking. The emotional immaturity of this department is exceptionally unprofessional and low brow. I hope we can improve in the near future.

Turnover at TD ranks among best in class - not just in the construction industry, but for any industry. The company is currently seeking 9% turnover with a goal to achieve 6% turnover the next year. Pretty aggressive targets for sure, but achievable when you have the right people on the team.
