Pros

I love working for the Commercial side of TDS as I've been given a lot of exposure to different components of the Sales cycle. I also like that I work in a small business office instead of a large call center setting. My direct leadership and coworkers are fantastic. As an employee on the Commercial side, the moral is very high and they provide a lot of little incentives to keep the job satisfaction. I plan to be here for many years to come.

Cons

Looking at all areas of my overall job, including benefits, pay, daily operations, and shift hours....I can't find one thing I dislike about my current position at TDS.

Great at first...

Pros

Wonderful job when this company had two separate departments which was sales and retention. Now that everything is merged advisors that were great at retaining customers are now forced to sell and vice versa. This company has some amazing incentives You can potentially make a lot of money in commission

Cons

Moral is very low Commissions were just lowered Metrics and target goals have been changed constantly since the merge Quality/Amount of sales calls is terrible

Our team has gone through some exciting changes over the last 6 months. We have merged our sales and retention teams so that we can provide exceptional customer service to our customers. We want to provide First Call Resolution to increase satisfaction with our customer base. Through this change, we have made adjustments along the way to continue to provide the right rewards and incentives for our Advisors. Most changes have been to the benefit of the Advisor to ensure we have our goals and metrics in alignment with our company goals. As with any change, we continue to fine tune to ensure we are taking care of our employees, our customers and exceeding our company expectations.

Truly the Best

Pros

Before I accepted my current position with TDS, I had worked for small companies my whole life and I was a bit intimidated by the thought of working for a Fortune 500 company. After my first couple days, I realized that coming to work here was the best work decision I've ever made. It may be an incredibly large company, but it feels like a close family organization where everyone is here to support and encourage you. You are never stuck in your position if you want to move up as one of the founding principles of TDS is to grow and learn. Everyone is treated with the greatest amount of respect and others are always just an IM, e-mail, phone call, or short walk away if you need any questions answered. TDS is NOT your typical stuffy corporation where you are chained to your desk and have co-workers who put you down for their own gain. TDS supports their employees and wants to do their absolute best by their customers. If a fellow employee is having a rough time due to illness or accident, TDS will start a donation for that employee. If you want to volunteer for a cause, TDS will pay you to go volunteer (up to a certain amount of hours of course). I can't say enough wonderful things about this company and all of the great things that it has done for me in my career and personal development.

Cons

There really isn't much down side here. If you have a difficult time working in cubes, this might be the biggest 'con'. However, we are surrounded by windows and in 90% of the building you will be near natural light. Personal opinion, all of the other pros outweigh this fact.
