Pros

They work to produce good journalism. It isn’t always successful.

Cons

They are trying to innovate but don’t have a clear strategy. The execs in charge of this have a long track record of failure and it shows in the results. The company produces very strong margins but constantly cuts benefits for employees. The latest is dropping holiday pay. Mr. Lougee is in over his head and doesn’t really care much for his employees.

Depending on your role the pay is OK.

Cons

Everything else. They are driven by IT with a overly driven security centric model even if it impacts people’s ability to do their jobs. Disagree with them and get termed. Steer clear of this company unless you like working in a toxic environment.

Pros

I learned a lot at TEGNA, and was surrounded by very smart and caring people. The company has strong beliefs in a world of "fake news" and I was proud to work there. A strong focus on innovation gives me hope for the company's future in a mature industry.

Cons

Financial reporting sometimes requires long hours and tight deadlines (which got better over the 4 years I had been there). On my team there wasn't much room for advancement.
