      Low pay- no room for growth- poor leadership. Run the other way.

      Pros

      401K match. Good probability to be hired right out of school.

      Cons

      Local television at its worse... A lot of talk about innovation, but no direction on how to innovate. Corporate folks travel through local stations around the country giving aspirational speeches about how to do things differently- the moment they leave, the local stations are still being held accountable by old standards such as overnight news ratings. This makes local management fearful of trying to disrupt. Poor... just poor. They have cut staff to a minimal at the local level, and those that are left behind are young, underpaid staff, with little experience.

      Pros

      Forward thinking. Knows how to treat journalists. Loves to innovate and reward it's employees.

      Cons

      Corporate needs to connect with stations more. The difference in aura and work environment between McLean and the stations is drastic.

      Pros

      Professional, talented On-air personalities who strive to put on a good product with limited resources.

      Cons

      Not enough staff to maintain the quality local programming this tv station was once known for. Long standing diversified employees get "rewarded" with more work and lousy schedules while less diversified employees do one job and better hours/days off. Corporate Management more worried about money than quality.
