      Some nice people work here

      It's like stepping back into 1964 where the GM hires and promotes his young inexperienced son and all women are secretaries. I can't speak for the entire Tegna company because we weren't allowed to communicate with corporate. Seeking training, advancement or even communication with HR is highly discouraged. This naturally caused many problems. The culture varies drastically depending on location and Tegna likes to position itself as an innovative company; so don't let this information discourage you from employment. Do closely examine the dynamics of the location in which you interview.

      Worst company I have ever worked for

      Pros

      No overtime. If you need a job to get you to the next job this is a great company. They hire people quickly due to turnover.

      Cons

      Benefits were the bare minimum. Compensation was horrible. Managers were extremely under qualified. Inventory was mismanaged and new business expectations were ridiculous.

      I cannot really think of anything positive for this company.

      Cons

      This company does not value its employees. From the low pay to the long hours to the terrible health care package. If you get too old they will push you out. If you make too much money you will not get a raise. A very selfish company that's focused on pushing out sub-par news content on any digital platform they can get their hands on!
