Pros

lots of good initial training, co-workers are fun to be around, happy hours can be fun. Great starting salary for someone right out of college and strong upside for commissions if you are willing to work 12 hour days.

Cons

I knew I had to leave this company when a senior Account Manager in the office (someone we were supposed to look up to as a leader) told me to lie to a candidate so the candidate will accept the 3 month contract job at Macy's and we get paid. We are supposed to be aligned to "skills, goals and interests" of our technical candidates but all we have in mind is making sure we make money. This job was not in the candidate's best interest. AM's get to leave work early on Fridays to golf and Recruiters are expected to be in the office at all times. There's no such thing as work/life balance and if you leave the office before 6pm it better be because of an emergency. Don't be there a minute after 7:30am too otherwise you will be scrutinized. Must be clean shaven and well dressed otherwise you will get sent home. Funny because the candidates we meet with mostly work for bay area tech companies and are wearing t shirts and jeans. The only reason why anyone works in this industry is to make money which is fine, but don't expect to get any personal satisfaction in this career or be able to brag to your friends about the shady work you do.

Pros

Recruiters are current in the field of IT keeping an eye on future needs of clients. They will take the time to talk to you about advancing your skill sets and tune them toward your strengths and also what will give you the greatest return. Recruiters are professionals not just position farmers. They will work with you and find you the right roles to develop in.

Cons

Despite clearly having more knowledge, experience, and success than my equals, I found their pay rates to be below market, compared to other contractors filling the same role and same client. You need to look out for you when it comes to negotiating pay, more so in TEK than with other vendors.

Pros

I think this is a great industry to start your career in (there are so many staffing firms in Atlanta, it really doesn't matter where you go.) I think everyone at the Entry level should work hard and pay their dues and this place certainly demands that. You have an opportunity to make a lot of money with the uncapped commission. The skills you can pick up if you work hard are going to be very valuable

Cons

If you have a few years of experience under your belt, just don't even bother. To them, you may as well be Entry level. Work / Life balance is an absolute joke. The pay for most is average at best. Base pay is laughable and commission CAN be amazing but a ton of it depends on the business you are working on Politics and micromanagement are some of the worst I have ever seen Turnover
