Pros

You get to do rotations and try out different jobs at Telus. Rotations are great if you are coming from a university without COOP or if COOP didnt give you enough insight into what you wanted to do with your life. You get to expand your network at Telus and if you are lucky meet some of the awesome people that are still in the company.

Cons

They say when you graduate from the BTLDP, you are very valuable to Telus but that is not reflected in salaries/ promotions. Pretty much you get the same salary for the 3 years you are in the BTLDP. After you graduate you receive no promotion. The salary they pay you when you are in the BTLDP is much lower than the market so after 3+ years of doing a job you are still making less than what you would have if you joined another company straight out of university.

Pros

The work life balance is definately a reason to want to work at TELUS. Expectations for performance are high, but there is a balance in the ability to get the job done with your personal life. There is flexibility in terms of time off and needing flexible time.

Cons

Salary and career advancement. It doesn't seem comparable to other similar jobs, and it appears that the path of least resistance for advancement is to threaten to leave, which doesn't foster the right employee morale. Compensation is a trade off for the work life balance

Pros

The actual work itself is OK, the pay is average for the job and the option to bring your service vehicle home (home dispatch) is a plus for some people.

Cons

The management is very subpar, all they look at are your numbers or metrics. Quality is being sacrificed for quantity. The company is actively bringing in contractors to replace regular employees. The moral is low to non existent.
