Pros

Good compensation, seemingly more secure than other financial services cos., sr. mgmt. seems to focus on cutting non-personnel expense before exploring layoff decisions

Cons

Communication between/within areas is slow and sometimes non-existent, near zero focus on IT infrastructure development, lack of professionalism in HR division and other areas, business operations seem old and out-dated

Pros

The company offers good retirement benefits. The company's core mission is good - serving those who serve others. CEO is well respected. Diversity is welcome.

Cons

Current cost cutting measures seem to be geared toward short-term rather than long-term survival of the company. Some management decisions are shrouded in secrecy. I would welcome a more open and transparent culture.

Pros

Before 2002, it was an awsome place to work. Recognition for achievements and hard work were the norm, as well as promotions for persons who were bettering themselves professionally. That has all changed. If I were accepting a position at this company currently, I would take advantage of every benefit (i.e. tuition reimbursement, employer-sponsored professional courses and seminars), with an action plan of seeking new employment elsewhere within the next 3 to 5 years. It's OK for a short stay, but I would not look for longevity in any employment role there. Best Wishes !!

Cons

Ongoing downsizing and layoffs, low morale of employees, ongoing plans to sell portions of the business and to outsource certain work functions.
