Pros

Not micromanaged Pay and bonus is competitive. Great work life balance. Lots of client focus. Nice people.

Cons

Because of hybrid model it the office continuity is weird and makes for a weird vibe.

Pros

1. Management is very good. TIAA doesn't pressure you to sell anything. TIAA cares about their employees and participants. Great coaching and training. There is opportunity to shadow other departments. 2. Great work life balance. TIAA has flexible shifts from 8 am to 8 pm in 8 hours segments. You can temporarily change your shift or request partial PTO. No work required after you leave the office. 3. Opportunity for lateral movement within 18 months in department. There are constantly new opening for positions within the department for Premier, Brokerage, National Support Line, Chat, and Mentoring.

Cons

1. Bonus Compensation is weak. There is only one annual bonus of $7,500. Most other firms have quarterly bonuses which are larger. Since TIAA doesn't have high expectation for sales there isn't opportunity to make large bonuses. Other firms are more sales oriented so you could make more money if you want to make sales. I am leaving the firm next month because of this main reason. 2. External movement is harder than competing firms. TIAA has a 18 month policy to be eligible to leave the National Contact Center Department. Most other firms allow for you to move outside the department after 12 months. I have been in the department for 12 months. My goal is to be in the Wealth Management Department. This is part of my reason for leaving next month.

Pros

The annual bonus is decent, IF you meet your goals.

Cons

It’s easy to be overlooked, undervalued, & stuck on the phones for years. Especially if you don’t care to brown nose your way up.
