Pros

Working level colleagues are some of the best and brightest.

Cons

Leadership changes over the last two years have caused internal distress and ruined long term confidence.

Pros

The people (minus executive level), the mission (autonomous trucks which will save lives)

Cons

The C-suite and especially the CTO have cratered this company. Torc has had many issues ranging from disorganization to lack of proper planning; however, they pale in comparison to the current cultural issues. All the executives (apart from the CEO) are remote, they hardly ever visit the offices. The executives are utterly disconnected from the people and do very little to drive a proper vision that inspires. The company has become littered with snap decisions (from the top) that usually end up incurring technical debt and borderline on safety issues. There is a reason two key safety individuals have left the company in the past three months.

Pros

It's a job with competitive pay and benefits.

Cons

Torc changed from the greatest place I’ve ever worked to one of the worst in a year. What happened? The well planned and executed democracy (everyone participated in planning simultaneously in a very transparent and collaborative way) was usurped by the King and his creation of the Executives of the Round Table (ERT). When I say “ERT” picture your favorite Monty Python character. The King dictated that all decisions would be made by the ERT without input from managers and/or the directors. The problem is the King and the ERT couldn’t plan their way out of a wet paper bag. The ERT treat the “people managers” as peasant individual contributors seeking no input on any planning and requirements. Sad, really. I couldn’t take it anymore and left. Torc is now just a job run by Monty Python characters.
