Pros

If you learn your job and do it well, then you are an asset that is virtually autonomous. This gives you the ability even as an emerging tech to make 6 figures out the door. Most managers will honor time off with no problem whether it’s paid or unpaid time off. Weekends are usually by choice. Other than training, most groups do not have mandatory weekends, however there are incentives in place if you do.

Cons

Look at CEO approvals on here. Upper management, HR will seem fine until lower level has an issue or goes against “their own.” Unless you live in the area of the corporate office and are buddy buddy with folks after hours, chances are you don’t stand a chance. Hidden subculture of prejudice and racism within hierarchy of decision makers within the U.S. team. As far as the German team goes, most U.S. colleagues are inferior in knowledge to them regardless of what you know or who you are.
