- tasks for production operatives were not very demanding - not much skill required, training doesn't take a long time - they allowed using headphones during work - a good place for entry to the optics business

Cons

- hiring through an agency allowed them to easily add or reduce the number of production operatives based on market demand - not much work stability - no bonuses, and stagnant salaries for technicians and production operatives
