Pros

Tsmc is an international, big, and stable company. If you want to work in a company with good salary, welfare, and rules, Tsmc is a choice you could make.

Cons

1) Long work hours and high work stress. 2) Shift work might affect health. 3) Last but not least, Hsin-chu is a boring city.

Pros

one of the best companies in terms of job security. A normal/low level of knowledge is enough to get a job in tsmc, but you need to have good university degree.

Cons

work hours are too long. Appraisal and career growth is not transparent. The culture is like the employee should do whatever the manager gives. Even if everyone knows that its non-sense, you just need to do it. When the company is in loss, they will cut employee salaries. But, when company is in higher profits, they will not give any extra profit sharing bonus.
