Pros

Easy access to a entry level job - the selection criteria at our site is pathetic; any job seeker is employed as long as they 1. impress the interviewers (wether professionally or not - i.e. flattery) and 2. are able to "pass" the ridiculous "MatchPoint" and "HirePoint" assessments for employee capability. They start benefits off with medical aid, pension fund, and an ESS (Employee Savings Scheme) -which could be a very big plus, if these benefit options were not the most cheapest/inadequate/cost cutting options available on the market. In all fairness they do provide an opportunity for young school leavers who are just entering the job market, to get their foot in the door regarding working for a large Transnational Corporation like Teletech. The best reason to work for them would be that they do advertise quite openly the potential possibility of job stability and career advancement. It is up to the individual employee to make up their minds if these attractions to work for Teletech compensate for the actual conditions of employment they encounter. They accept you as you come.

Cons

-The basic remuneration is not a living wage outside of the U.S.A and Canada (perhaps of more stringent labour regulations and highly defined minimum wage policies in those countries. - Management is incoherent/dismissive/abrasive in their interactions with staff, drawing definitive lines between the place of the employed and the position of the employer. - Management is also highly inexperienced and/or incapable of performing certain critical tasks required of their position. Employees are constantly having to 'Streamline" the work out put of management and smooth over the frayed working relations that consequently develop. - You are constantly made aware of the fact that you are instantly replaceable (as the skill sets you were employed with is widely available due to its inherent low value in the workplace. - Employees are not valued and treated with the due regard that Teletech espouses in the business values. - It is tremendously difficult to earn more money once in a specific role (even though the monthly remuneration lags seriously behind similar positions elsewhere in the same industry. - Promotion aspects are dismal as 1. you are always competing with fresh/new employees eager to make headway and impress - only to later become part of a very high attrition rate - and 2. once you excel in your role you are oppressively "retained" there as you bring the only stability and high performance in your department due to the high turnover rates mentioned earlier. - You quickly become disillusioned with the flashy exterior of Teletech's employment appeal (adverts, benefits, etc.) as you daily face the dismal organisational capacity of the company to hire and retain competent employees and, especially, management. You are not compensated for excelling in your post, in fact you are almost punished in that you are identified as a potential "static" worker who produces consistent appealing results - something that is sorely missing in Teletech. As a "static" employee the company absorbs you into the mold of your role so that your abilities are never allowed to make an impact in other (read management) areas of the business concern. - Due to the low skill set requirement for your hire to Teletech - you are treated and seen as a single drop in the vast low value skill set from which you have emerged. Essentially, the feeling I get is that Teletech - never you - make you what they want you to be.

Pros

I used to praise TeleTech, used to is the key word. I was on a project that i very much liked and it was a TeleTech owned company. Until Teletech sold that company and the project shut down. I like the work on the new project, just not how it is ran. The work is a challenge, which is a plus for me. This is a good company if you like constant change and new challenges. The projects are always updating how they run their companies and what is expected of us. And if you don't care too much for the current work, no worries cause it won't be long before that project is closed and your shipped off to a new one, to start over again.

Cons

The flexibility in schedules just isn't what they claim it to be. I have seen requests for time off be put in 3+ months ahead of the time needed and still are denied. Its always the companies needs over any need the employees have. That is because they are very understaffed. The ability to move up in the company really isn't as open as they claim it to be. I had to wait for over a year before any positions for advancement opened on my last project and now that is gone, only time will tell before advancement oppertunites are available on this current one.

Pros

Good pay and if you work very hard you'll be able to climb up b/c the turnover is very high. So, if your objective is to simply sit down in a chair and get paid it isn't a good place to work because your metrics are being carefully tracked every single minute of every single hour and there is little room to hide and pass the day away while not performing any work.

Cons

Very busy all of the time and absolutely no work / family life balance. So - if you aren't too worried about having lots of personal time on the weekends go ahead and sign up.
