Pros

Great Pay and Benefits, especially for the area.

Cons

The people who actually put power on the grid (i.e. maintain the revenue stream) are not valued by upper management, because they are highly compensated. Money keeps a lot of dissatisfied people employed, therefore there is a negative culture on the operating crews. Operations works under a microscope from multiple fronts. Multiple times a day you get tasked with fixing deficiencies that are not under your control to prevent, always with a back story of you allowing low standards to prevail. This often comes in the forms of an e-mail, with a picture of something somebody saw in the plant. It gets old, especially when you are generally very busy keeping up with federal requirements. People who fail out of initial license training don't get paid as much, but have much greater upward mobility than those who earn their license.

Pros

Still good benefits for now, fair compensation, diverse workforce.

Cons

Your experience there will vary wildly depending on what organization and work group you find yourself in. I moved around into different organizations within TVA and the common theme was that middle-upper management was clueless and indifferent to the crumbling state of the agency and front line managers found their cries for help falling on deaf ears. The staffing for critical areas has fallen below sustainable levels and if you are one of those left who can halfway do your job expect to work 60-70 hour work weeks under high stress. There is no attrition planning and most of the knowledge quite literally walked away after the last buyout. In five to ten years TVA will not be able to operate unless they improve staffing and training.
