      Valuable nuclear experience and introduction to nuclear industry. Worked here you can work at any nuclear plant.

      Pros

      Experience is valuable and could help your marketability.

      Cons

      Stressful, regulatory condition, change management too frequently, lack enough real diversity in leadership positions and with the traditional staff employees. People are treated as though they are expendable. Asked to work in high stress conditions with long hours over long periods of times. Many people are reaching their breaking point at being burnt out.

      TVA has great benefits (i.e. 401k with 6% matching, retirement packages, and health benefits).

      Cons

      An abusrd amount managers and senior managers compared with employees.

      Pros

      TVA's historical mission changed the Tennessee Valley greatly in a good way, and it was great to work for an agency which had made life better for the valley's residents. I loved the jobs I had (worked 3 different jobs in 3 locations over several years). Compensation, benefits, etc., were very competitive. Training and opportunities to learn were very good.

      Cons

      Management, the politics, and general bureaucracy of the agency holds it back. The bad publicity with the ash spill did not help. I also feel too many contract employees have been hired over the years, which skews the pride or success factor for any company.
