Pros

I absolutely love the people I work with and for. The franchise that I work for is filled with amazing people who actually care and do their best to take an active role in their employees lives.

Cons

Seems every store in our district is severely understaffed, my best educated guess for why would be #1 pay- we hire in employees at a much lower rate than many fast food restaurants around us, being there 2 years and being a GM, I am salary. I am required to work 50 hours a week but most often end up working 60-70. Being salary, I am paid for 40 hours a week no matter what, anything over that and I am working for free. The #2 reason would be improper training. Always being short staffed means when a new employee starts, they are rushed through the training process and are usually thrown to the wolves way too soon. Most people find this extremely stressful and end up leaving within the first week or two.

Pros

Overall, Taco Bell is a great place to work. Nice people, relatively healthy work-life balance most of the time, lots of fun culture-building activities.

Cons

This can be a very cult-like work environment. Everyone's extremely invested in each other, the work, and the brand, sometimes to a fault. Also, it is extremely difficult to move your way up the corporate role hierarchy as this company abides by Yum! Brands structure and policies, which can set even the most exceptional employees at a disadvantage.

Pros

The people you work with can make it hard to quit

Cons

There is a bonus structure but it is very hard to achieve and I worked in one of the best running stores. And we barely ever got it. Everyone above store level doesn’t care about you. I’ve been an assistant for 10 years and I’m one of the best and they paid me the same as an assistant that is just being promoted. Took me a YEAR to get $5000 more. It is really hard to get employees to care about their job. The 6 week training period for external hired managers is NOT long enough to learn anything. Not by a long shot. That is coming from myself in training and also training others that came to our store (we are a training store).
