Pros

Four years ago, Tacony was a great place to work and the company lived up to its posted values, but that is no longer the case. A new CEO changed all that. The biggest pros are the rank and file, who are hard-working and loyal employees despite everything and a wonderful customer base.

Cons

Leaders have no empathy and understanding of what it’s like to be a non-management employee and only a handful of opinions, out of hundreds, matter. Many employees and middle managers speak up, but their opinions and concerns are overruled, ignored or demeaned. There’s a constant rotation of outside consultants with poor results. Poor pay scale for the workload and job responsibilities. Benefits and compensation have declined over the last few years. The workforce never grows. Often positions aren’t backfilled when someone quits or is fired so their workload gets redistributed to others. You won’t be compensated appropriately or often not at all if it is decided that you should have no problem doing another job in addition to the one you applied for. A hiring process is long and complicated. Two to three months is common even for entry level positions. High, toxic stress levels from a workload that is frequently overwhelming and unattainable. Uncertain and unstable atmosphere due to constant changes in policies, benefits, business units, customer programs and firings over the last four years. Employees live in fear daily of what is coming around the corner. The result is a “keep your head down and your mouth shut” working environment. Tacony has failed to create a healthy and collaborative work environment.

With new leadership comes changes to policies and programs to keep up with customer and industry demand. Thankfully, we have a CEO and leadership team who are successfully leading us through a global pandemic to protect the long-term success of the company and, with it, the jobs of hundreds of people. Our benefits and programs are generous and have been adjusted to meet the changing needs of employees with children attending virtual school. We continue to listen to and respect the needs of our people. Thank you for your feedback and your years of service.

Pros

Tacony is a great company to work for. There are numerous benefits for employees: competitive salaries and PTO, and pension plan to name a few. Tacony has implemented many changes over the past couple of years and while change is hard for most people to adjust to, the changes have set up Tacony to be successful for many years to come. The CEO Kristi and the leadership team have done a great job navigating all of the changes and have the company on course for sustained long-term success.

Pros

The company has potential and there are individuals that work there that are good people. But no one seems happy.

Cons

The overall work culture is toxic and that's primarily influenced by the CEO, a family member with a big ego that lacks empathy. And there is a gaping disconnect in the culture and leadership of their disparate business units. They are greedy and do not value their people at all. Their strategic business decisions are archaic and their leadership philosophy is old and outdated. The salary levels are low, benefits are not up to par competitively.

We agree that our company potential is great, and our people are even better! Thanks to the life-long passion and dedication of our CEO, the tireless efforts of our leadership team, and the strong work ethic of our people, Tacony has seen many changes and made some tough decisions. Those changes and quick action by our leadership team have helped successfully lead us through a global pandemic, something harder than anything we’ve faced in nearly 75 years in business. We’re proving to be resilient. We stand together and continue to provide our employees with competitive pay, exceptional benefits and an increase in wellness support, now more than ever. Thank you for your feedback, your years of service, and we wish you well.
