Pros

Talbots values an ability to foster client relationships. Their approach to supporting employees seems holistic: training, role playing, and clear goals. The cake is iced by the managers' ability to provide realtime feedback and coaching. From the HR side, 1) the company mission and associated values are known by all employees and 2) compensation is realistic for retail sales. Every sales person can focus on the client as we work as a team rather than individually earned commission. Other great aspects are the experience level of management and the years of service of employees--- the minimal attrition enables building of competence and good teamwork.

Cons

Only downside is morning opening as not much for morning traffic. Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

Pros

Great people, good pay, nice atmosphere

Cons

Very overwhelming to start. Training is hit or miss. Aggressive customer contact is uncomfortable for me. I don't want to give my name and life history when I enter a store. POS system could be a lot faster and easier to ring up sales.
