We are expected to strong arm our customers into opening a credit card. Every year they reinvent the wheel, they come up with new process' that cost millions to put in place only to discard and begin again. They start with a great program and then continually take away any support they promised. They refuse to advertise and expect us to bring new customers in the door, however they don not give us the tools to do so. We don't get paid to work out of the store, in the past they have expected us to ask for donations to support our events because they do not give us a budget. I could go on.

There was a time when developing and coaching was on the forefront. Now it seems that the culture has shifted to associates getting on boarded in only a few days without really understanding the Talbots culture. There was a time when new team members both sales and management were given two weeks of complete training with the use of videos, literature, roll play, and shadowing. While I understand that our clients come first I think it's a disservice to them when team members are not on boarded in a manner where they have been given the knowledge to serve them.
