      Pros

      In a period of complete change since the buyout by sycamore, there are complete overhauls to the ways of doing business here. Finally catching up to what other retailers are doing.

      Cons

      But at the expense of its people, no good leadership has people spinning all day, every day. Until the company is at a point to be ready for its next sale, it will not be a good time to work here.

      Pros

      Loved my job with Talbots...Great co-workers, competitive pay and benefits. Good location. Enjoyed relationship w/stores and customers. Positive feedback from supervisor and ability to learn.

      Cons

      Many changes within company in last several years due to economy. Not enough room for advancement. Positions eliminated by buyout. Not happy with upper management

      Pros

      Company is big on promoting from within. Part time and full time benefits options. (My) Management worked well with identifying talent in each associate and utilizing it well. Competetive pay. Classic Quality product. Brand has grown from strictly classic pieces, to more modern items and colors- broadens the demographic of shoppers to work with. Company always aims to improve their practices My Manager was very generous with working out scheduling conflicts so we could all have work/life balance.

      Cons

      Rumors constantly circulating about company's health. Known for their quality but at times the quality was questionable. Too often in "sale" mode, so much so that customers expect it and it deters them from buying full price merch.
