      Fun perks, but overworked and lacking career paths. Burnout is inevitable.

      Pros

      The creative leaders and team were positive and helpful. I grew in my skills at times, and found mentorship easily when I was proactive. The company offers many perks, outings, and free meals. The design team puts an emphasis on quality, has high standards, and uses modern design approaches. If you want to dive into a creative team that's progressive and get a couple well-known brands in your portfolio this is a place to try in the Phoenix job market.

      Cons

      Leadership wasn't aligned on values and how those values should be exhibited across the company. They treated full quarters as sprints and burnout and turnover was high due to this. There was no clear path for advancement and no emphasis on personal or professional growth. At any agency the customers are #1 priority, but Tallwave's Project Managers frequently made promises to clients without consulting their designer on timeline or effort. This would cause me (and others) to consistently work weekends and stay late. There were frequent 'emergency' pivots disrupting workflow. Despite allowing remote work, leadership frowned upon it, which came across as a lack of trust. The office could be more inclusive and diverse. I became unhappy with my lack of opportunity within the company and unreasonable expectations of my schedule.

I am glad to read that you feel as though our design discipline at Tallwave is progressive and that you had an opportunity to refine your skills. It is disappointing to hear some of the challenges you have outlined surrounding our benefits and lack of alignment with leadership. As a leadership team and broader team, we are working to support each other and provide our collective teams with the tools they need to be successful. We don’t always get it right the first time, but I do want you to know that I have personally taken your feedback.       Tallwave has a strong culture of people who genuinely enjoy collaborating and helping each other grow. Beautiful office space.

      There is a lack of diversity.

      Great for meeting people, and learning from some very talented individuals.

      Cons

      Agency grind. Get customers out the door ASAP to bring next ones in. Difficult work life balance at the time, but I've since heard that's been fixed.
