Pros

Tanium is finally cleaning things up and steering the ship in the right direction. It has taken a lot of time to clear out ineffective leadership but now that we have there is a lot of room for growth as a company. Smart colleagues, strong compensation if you are outside of G&A.

Cons

Uncompetitive equity grants and limited refreshers.

Pros

There are a lot of incredibly smart and driven people at Tanium. The company tackles interesting problems in cybersecurity, and when you're able to focus, the work can be rewarding. Compensation is decent, and you get free lunch in the office. The hybrid work policy sounds flexible—at first.

Cons

Unfortunately, much of what you're sold during the interview process doesn’t hold up. I was told that as long as I was meeting expectations and attending mandatory in-person meetings, there was no strict requirement to be in the office a certain number of days each week. That promise was quietly reversed—since February, employees have been expected to badge in at least twice a week, and leadership is now threatening to withhold stock refreshes from those who don’t comply, regardless of performance. The in-office experience isn’t great either: limited quiet spaces, harsh fluorescent lighting, low-quality monitors, and a general environment that’s not very conducive to focus. The free lunch is appreciated, but it’s not anything to get excited about. Overall, I get more done at home without the distractions. Training also leaves a lot to be desired—especially for new hires who are expected to ramp up quickly without sufficient support. Additionally, Customer Success is often treated as an afterthought. We’re excluded from major events like SKO and Converge (hosted at Universal Studios with customers), and not eligible for the Sales Club trip. It’s clear that Sales is prioritized, and other departments don’t get the same recognition or investment.
