Pros

• Offices are nice - good layout, well run, large variety of free (and high quality) snacks/beverages stocked in offices and $25 daily credit given to all employees who come into the office for catered lunches, basically uber eats-like (this is huge for personal cost savings - imo arguably the biggest, tangible financial benefit offered at Tanium, since the 401k program is terrible and RSUs are speculatory). Workplace/office managers are also very friendly and professional - they constantly organize fun events too. • Unlimited vacation offered to some employees - definitely can be a "scam" but if you don't feel guilty about using it then it's a good perk - people seem to generally take advantage of it • RSUs granted to all employees - could be worth something someday, maybe. • Flexibility for working hours and hybrid days in the office - hybrid days are counted per month, based on a weekly average, so you can "bank" your days more on some weeks to offset not coming in on other weeks. Hybrid days also aren't counted by hours yet, so you can come in for a few hours, then leave, and it'll count for a day in the office. • Since it's a smaller company, there's plenty of opportunity to find unique work and potentially grow/be promoted quickly • Good work-life balance overall - if you draw boundaries and don't feel pressured by some people/managers who seem like they work 24/7, there's a lot of flexibility and leeway to people who get their work done • Base salary I think is also overall good overall compared to the market for similar positions and level of effort • For all the cons I've said about some of the people, there are some genuinely great people here who are friendly, intelligent, and do great work - if there weren't a good number of people I genuinely like working with and have become good friend with, here, I would've left by now.

Cons

• 401k program is terrible and management has been saying for years that they will reevaluate it "soon," but never does. It's not even close to industry standard and other benefits don't excuse it being this bad • Small waves of layoffs that hit different business units without warning, even when leadership promises things are going "fine" - it's never enough to make big news, but suddenly like 3-5 people from an org will be gone overnight and happens basically every quarter, it seems, and it's quite unsettling when it happens • Lots of internal politics between departments - teams refusing to work cooperatively or even undercutting or trying to sabotage other teams because their leaders don't get along. Creates a tough environment where people are distrustful or afraid to communicate openly • Some “old boy’s club” culture from when the company was much smaller. Certain people seem to be part of an “inner circle” clique that can basically do anything they want and can get away with being poor performers. • Titles are weird - a lot of the position titles don't match up with industry standard names • Challenges with workforce offshoring - they're started offshoring a ton of positions in Poland, which makes it difficult and frustrating to get work done when all the key resources are offline as soon as your day starts.
