Pros

-Hybrid wfh 4 days a week and in office 1 day -Read books all day -Coworkers are great

Cons

-low pay (not livable wages) -micromanagement to the extreme (I’m currently documenting every minute of my day including bathroom breaks because even though I’m meeting my monthly metrics, I’m not time tracking to their standards) -literally no one cares about you. HR is a joke and doesn’t take anything serious. I’ve been waiting for 3 weeks to hear back from them when I complained about a hostile work environment. I’m being treated like a criminal because my time tracking isn’t perfect regardless that I’ve had zero performance issues in the 6 years I’ve been here -managers are out of touch. I told them I couldn’t afford gas and they sent me resources for a financial adviser. I hate it here

Pros

- you get paid to read all day, book lover’s dream - nice people to work with - hybrid with 4 days at home and 1 day in office - good job if you like to work by yourself or if you’re introverted, not a ton of collaboration unless issues come up - they’re flexible about your hours in the sense that you can pick what time you’d like to start depending on if you’d like to start early in the morning or later in the morning. Also they’re good about letting you flex your hours if you have an appointment, which is great - no working outside of work hours so you’re not feeling like you’re “taking home” work to try and catch up, just work your 40 hours a week

Cons

- the pay is not a livable wage, impossible to pay bills with just this job - the expectations they have are high for how low the pay is - hammering down about not missing the one day in office despite the fact that the job can be done effectively and efficiently from home (if you’re sick and ask to work from home to spare your coworkers from getting exposed to sickness, you will have to make up your in office day at a later date by working more than one in office day during a later week - growth is tough because you have to wait for openings for trainings necessary to do what needs to be done at the next step

Pros

Freedom to go after titles/genres that interest you, to an extent

Cons

Heard upper management talk badly about disabled staff on multiple occasions, most staff and almost all (or maybe all? Having trouble remembering) of upper management is white. Their loss- diverse staff = diverse books = more money
