This company nearly had a detrimental negative impact on my whole career as an engineer. I was promised the world upon joining the company and as the years went by, the promises faded away. I was made redundant before finishing my apprenticeship and was told in my dismissal meeting that my qualification was the top of their priority. Upon leaving I had zero contact from the HR team and even the workshop team leader didn’t want anything to do with me once I was dropped so suddenly. As anyone can imagine, my world came crashing down and I was left unemployed and unqualified, even after committing 3 years and 6 months into a company I thought genuinely cared. Since leaving the company I have had to take it upon myself to really push for my qualification to be finalised, submitted and issued, this took me 2 years to do, on my own. The amount of anxiety and depression I went through whilst waiting for the finalisation of the this qualification is unthinkable. I felt worthless without that qualification. Even after contacting the head of trainee development I was brushed off for two years! Even though they promised me their effort to get my certificate as part of my redundancy! I cannot warn young professionals enough to bare in mind what they may have to endure, it’s my moral obligation to warn anyone thinking of choosing this company to invest their time, effort and interest into.
