Too much focus on family business

Pros

The office is nice, and a lot of the “grunt workers”are super nice as well. It’s an ok place for new devs to get their feet wet.

Cons

They under pay everyone from people straight out of school to strong developers with years of experience. It’s also the reason why you see people leave. The devs actually making the software are undervalued. Without the core product there wouldn’t be a business. Tax Season or the lead up can be stressful. It’s nothing most can’t handle, but you’re asked to put in extra hours here and there. That would be fine if not for the point above about already being underpaid. They also need less focus on “family business” and more focus on being a technology company which what they actually are or should be.

-Some people get paid a lot to do very little work -Some fun events (kick ball, vacation, etc)

Cons

-Mostly low pay -Crappy benefits -Crappy time off (sick time and vacation time are together and only 16 days) -Reluctant to add work from home, strict policy -No overtime pay -Requires crazy hours all "tax season" which becomes longer every year -walking to and from the building alone in the dark -no advancement (unless a friend) -very little diversity

Great benefits, vacation, pto, and bonuses. Definitely a unique employer when it comes to vacations, you'll understand once you start working there.

Cons

Some positions feel limited in continued on the job learning when it comes to programming which can limit programmers looking for more senior positions.
