Pros

Flexible schedule, decent training, relatively easy work, they pay for your AAPC renewal, monthly CEUs

Cons

First and foremost.. coders are started at $19.25/hr which is a slap in the face for the knowledge that us coders have. Next, the extreme micromanaging, say you have a production rate of 35.xx charts per hour.. if you are even .05 off of the goal you will get an entire email ridiculing you over it. You have to simultaneously work through charts fast but also not mess them up because you get an L2 corporate audit every month and if you miss even simply 2 charts then you’ve failed the audit. You can’t continuously fail them either or else (ya know). Seniors over you will pull up an excel sheet looking at exactly how much time you have spent in between or actually coding a chart. The PTO accrual per paycheck is laughable. I think it’s about 2-3 hours accrued biweekly. PTO also rolls over into LTS (long term sick) once your work anniversary rolls around. It’s almost impossible to use the LTS and it is NOT paid out when you leave the job. There is never enough work and yet they continue to hire more coders. If there is no work they will casually say that you can take a day off and it’ll be approved with no penalty to you BUT you have to use the magical PTO that you already barely get. If you are not at work for whatever reason, you have to use the PTO. They do not allow you to even choose to take the time off without pay. You can borrow against you PTO balance if you have none up to 40 hours which is crazy because why not just let people decide WHEN they want to use their PTO? I actually don’t recommend people to work here unless you want to be treated like a child and make barely enough money to survive.
