Pros

The support team is absolutely incredible. They help our department stay up with the most current government requirements and help solve challenges with physician, nursing, and administrative policies. Very competitive compensation. Above all, their primary focus is helping the local team of providers give the best patient care and hospital service possible.

Cons

There is occasionally some additional data collection or corporate level paperwork, but this is kept to a minimum and it has actually helped us run more efficient and kept us ahead of the new QCDR requirements. Really we are dealing with the same challenges as a lot of places and we are doing better than the vast majority of groups and our hospital loves what we are doing.

Pros

Generous PTO. Clean, comfortable, and safe work environment. Management is certainly not over bearing. Laid back dress code. Friendly welcoming staff.

Cons

Highly repetitive/dull work. Rough scheduling/getting time off is a pain unless you planned it 3 months in advance which is kind of unrealistic. Open 24/7. Meager annual raises. Poor performance incentives. It's easy to feel unappreciated. Above average turnover. Base pay is not great, but they offer more money to work the worst hours. It kind of feels like you're being punished for not working late/weekends rather than being incentivised to do so. For example taking one Saturday or Sunday (not even both just one) off a month will cost you about 160 bucks. The tiered pay structure also feels intentionally confusing, so you're never really sure exactly what your check is going to be.

Pros

The leaders in our division are fantastic. We are contracted with an organization which is very reactive and, at times, punitive towards providers for the facility's leadership and organizational shortcomings. That being said, TeamHealth leadership remains supportive and flexible. They have done a very good job of hiring providers who genuinely care about the service they provide and who are collaborative.

Cons

While all providers are treated as self-motivated, some of them occasionally develop habits which interfere with the work of others. These habits, when seen as not directly impacting patient care, are overlooked. Preferential scheduling for some providers.
