I loved being on the retail floor with all of the great tea products, but the manager tried to use scare tactics.

Pros

We get a 40% discount on all store merchandise. Hours are flexible. There are some really cool, smart and fun-loving EMPLOYEES at Teavana.

Cons

The sales structure is like retail on crack. Management gets on your case for not maximizing sales and pushing cast iron sales. It is very hard to get the monthly bonus when you are scheduled to work at times where there are very few customers. For example, if you only work weekday mornings, your numbers are worse than your colleagues who work on weekends during high volume sales. But this is not accounted for in the weekly reports or in consideration of the bonus.

Pros

you get to drink amazing teas, and you learn about them.

Cons

it'S s a fun job , unless if you r sampling all day long , trying to grab people who are walking on the mall, and sell them overpriced tea ...!!! and you do it all day long .....No thanks... People don't want to be bothered , you feel so low screaming infront of your store to who ever is walking "TRY SOME TEA !!! "...nONSTOP. For minumum wage ? hah... gross

Interview Process is way too long

Pros

The staff is very knowledgable about the products. THere is also an incentive to make your sales goal because you are awarded with a bonus.

Cons

The interview process took about a month which is really dumb for a part time job in the mall. It may be a sign of the times but that is just crazy.
