Pros

- Great for cross-team collaboration, both in the SF office and with globally disbursed teams - Flexible work schedule depending on the department, ability to work remote - The people are incredibly smart and driven - Dog friendly work spaces - People here like to get stuff done and will just up to help whenever you ask

Cons

- Top-heavy organization, potentially difficult to move up, because people don't ever leave - Because the org is so large, there can be difficulty with competing priorities and overall vision - There seems to be a disconnect between the executive lever and everyone else, though there is movement internally to address this - Not enough professional development opportunities - Benefits are good, but I've seen better

Pros

TechSoup is a place that hires smart people and then gives them the flexibility and environment to shine and run with their ideas. It is an amazing culture, full of unique individuals but all are bonded by the drive to make a difference in nonprofits and NGOS all around the world. I've never been in a place where you can truly see the ripple effect of your work to the scale that you do when you're at TechSoup. Truly a place I love to arrive to in the morning!

Cons

Being a global organization, there are a lot of moving pieces which can sometimes be hard to make sure they are all under control. But in the end, it's part of the balancing act of helping nonprofits all over the world!

Pros

I've been fortunate to work at TechSoup for the last 8 years as the organization has pioneered new technologies, partnerships and business models to become a very successful nonprofit social enterprise with diversified support. This allows us to continue to innovate new projects and programs all over the world. We have an impact on real people and partner with exceptional NGOs in 60 countries. For me, this visionary leadership takes place in tandem with a caring management style and a thriving and open staff culture in which not only are professional accomplishments recognized, but personal pursuits outside of work - family, sports, art, music, film, theater - are celebrated as well. I feel that I'm part of a team, have the flexibility to evolve my duties as needed, and am appreciated for my work.

Cons

The biggest con is the cost of living in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Unfortunately, it's bad, and getting worse.
