Pros

Most of the people who work at Technatomy, who aren't HR or leadership, are well-intentioned and nice. I think there is a lot of interest in moving Technatomy to the next level, but there is so much pettiness and noise in the way, that it continues to be good intentions.

Cons

HR and leadership have no control over the company. The gossip, fraternization, and nepotism (and resulting family feuds) really put an unprofessional spin on the entire enterprise. They create so much noise that I suspect nothing gets done. People are either cheating on their spouses with their co-workers (and these are senior-level executives doing this), or someone in IT is mad at another person's sister who is mad at their cousin who works on a contract, or something. As a result, the administrative and HR staff (who are all related to one another) behaves like one big episode of Mean Girls. I've never seen anything like it. Especially the fraternization issue; it's unacceptably unprofessional.

Pros

Friendly people, everyone knows everyone else, laid back atmosphere, top executives are accessible and responsive, health insurance is cheap with employer only option, competitive salary and bonuses

Cons

Health insurance is expensive if you add spouse and dependents, management staff is lean and can seem overworked, company expanding with new contracts so normal growing pains, annual performance reviews not useful

Pros

It's a paycheck, otherwise not applicable

Cons

Extreme nepotism Closed mind approach to developing employees, very little opportunity for growth HR's lack of communication Frequent turnover Employee's are not given adequate credit for all the extra BD work, the expectation is "your free time" Lack of quality a Benefits package HR is run like an old boys club... but by women. If you aren't well liked, you're screwed... especially because HR might as well be the CEO. There is zero accountability for HR who doesn't meet industry standards
