Pros

I came to Technomics out of college and am extremely happy with my decision in hindsight. I find my day to day work to be quite challenging and refreshing. Working here as spoiled me in that I expect project teams to be small, management chains to be short, and fellow employees to be engaged and interested in my work. While many of my peers have passed the 'honeymoon' period with their first job out of college and are looking for new work, I feel even more motivated to entrench myself at this company. Its comforting to see possible career paths laid out before me with obvious personal and financial benefits.

Cons

It takes time/ trial and error to find one's work niche. Technomics has a wide variety of projects, finding the right work on the right project took me several iterations. Otherwise, no complaints.

Changes for the better

Pros

I've been with Technomics for over four years and have seen the company grow and change for the better. Don't get me wrong, Technomics has always been a great company to work for. However, Technomics really started to "grow up" over the past year. In July 2013 the CEO brought in the current President and since then the company has established concrete goals for corporate growth and employee development. Aiding this progress was the addition of a new CFO and a new HR professional. The core business is still cost analysis related work, however, the company is leveraging the firm's analytical skills to help customers make better decisions in other areas such as program management and systems engineering. Overall: -Great work-life balance (as compared to other consulting firms in the DC area). -Approachable upper management who listen to employees and take action. -Technomics hires smart, talented, and personable people. The CEO and President attend college recruiting trips and interview each candidate who comes in for an on-site interview. -Employee Stock Ownership Plan gives employees a vested interest in the success of the company. Top performers have a potential to truly have a stake in the company. -Great 401K plan and Continuing Education Program -Leadership and training opportunities

Cons

-Cost Analysis is a niche market, therefore it is difficult to find qualified people for some project work.

Pros

Our analytical teams are strong, innovative, dependable, and product oriented. As a project lead analyst here for many years, I am constantly impressed by the young talent we hire and retain. And we have some of the most enthusiastic, energized senior analysts in the business, many of which have 25+ years of experience; they still love rolling up their sleeves! Working with my teammates here is a pleasure. I also like the strong efforts we make to give back to the cost community at-large, contributing significantly to conferences and workshops, and hosting training sessions available to all of our peers. I am often pleasantly surprised by the number of professional awards our folks win - areal tribute to their hard work. At Technomics, our goal is to exceed customers' expectations. Given many clients are DoD-centric, we also keep the taxpayer in mind, delivering quality and value. This key theme is discussed in our day-to-day work, and encouraged by our CEO at our quarterly meetings. As we have grown in size, we have recently hired experienced new senior executives helping us focus and improve our effectiveness.

Cons

Company ran into a short period of growing pains a couple years ago, stretching some management folks beyond their areas of expertise. Realignment and strategic hires have corrected the course.
