Pros

Decent pay (but not worth the toll on your mental and physical health) Some coworkers were great to work with

Cons

The culture at Techstars is one of the worst I've ever encountered. It's a place where office politics and favoritism run rampant. The only people who seem to get treated well are those who "show face" to the bosses, particularly those located in the New York City office. It doesn't matter if you're the most tenured person on the team or if you consistently produce high-quality work; if you're not part of this in-crowd, you're essentially invisible to upper management. Lack of Job Security: Despite my years of service and dedication to the company, I was terminated during a period of sickness. This lack of job security was incredibly disheartening, and it sends a terrible message to employees. It makes you feel like nothing more than a replaceable cog in the machine, no matter how much effort you put in. Unfair Treatment: The disparity in treatment between the NYC employees and those working in Colorado is astonishing. While NYC employees get all the perks and attention, rest of employees are often overlooked and underappreciated. The company's bias towards those physically present in the office significantly hinders productivity. It's clear that the focus is on optics rather than actual work quality. Lack of Transparency: There is a significant lack of transparency when it comes to decisions made at the management level. Employees are often left in the dark about changes that directly affect their work and job security.
