Rampant greenwashing.

Pros

The entrepreneurial network is the only good thing left at this place.

Cons

Techstars has been partnering with the oil and gas industry in Saudi Arabia, as well as big tobacco, despite pursuing an aggressive media strategy around ESG. There's about 5 people left standing from before the current CEO started, and the organization is way worse for it. New C-suite is both clueless and toxic when it comes to leadership, and they only build teams of individuals who push their agenda. No pushback or critical thinking allowed. If you ever wonder why there are always 50+ open roles posted for seemingly good-looking jobs, there's your answer. The economy might be bad and they might seem tempting but stay.far.away.

Mixed Bag of Culture

Business Outlook

Pros

- Great access to community, mentors and deal-flow. - Opportunity to invest and advise startups/companies - Highly visible role in the startup community

Cons

- Organization is poorly run - Incentives and culture is poor and at times toxic - Leadership shows regular contempt for managing directors and general misunderstanding of what the work entails. - Generally a lot of weaker players at the corporate level, often doing regular harm to culture, retention and incentives.
