A place where employees can grow professionally and have the chance to feel actively contributing to a growing business.
Pros
A massive will and energy to do outstanding work and build credibility by the ability to think thoroughly end-to-end solutions (from design thinking to dev), to create value as thinkers and not only executants. It offers employees the opportunity to grow with the company, as so many new challenges come on the way and team isn't massive; but also to help the company growing as it learns and adapts to the challenges and new processes. The opportunity to belong is there for those who want to grab it and help making this the best place to be. There is no pressure on the office at all, in any way, and is certainly the most laid-back environment I've ever worked at. Off course hard-deadlines always hit, but working hours are very much respected and each individuals rhythm is hardly ever questioned. Employees have the latest technologies available, multiple comfort foods for free, recreational areas to distress, and company organised events are frequent as an effort to improve connections and build cohesive aligned team.
Cons
It's not a perfect house (but which is it?), and has some old practices to be reviewed and improved. It has grown increasingly fast and hasn't foreseen the impact and implications of such growth (management, teams and resources, processes, etc). There are still some 'stereotypes' or 'dated' views of the working place, working hours, work dress code which not only do not align with the energy being build (creating a don't belong feeling on employees) but also can be, sometimes, unfair. However, and although annoying sometimes, I consider these to be understandable considering the creative (outstanding) venture is fairly recent to the company and takes time for its organics to change as well. Less understandable, but equally present and annoying, is how employees live in silos of 'complains', certainly damaging the overall environment. Hoping it all refreshes.
