If you’re in the early stage of your career and aren’t the type to follow every instruction without question, don’t start here.
Don’t be fooled by the word “remote.” While the job is remote, there are too many unnecessary and overly long meetings. Tasks that could be finished in 10 minutes often drag on for over an hour. Cameras are mandatory during meetings—fail to turn yours on and you’ll get a strike. Joining more than 3 minutes late is also a strike, and three strikes will hurt your evaluation.
The work environment feels like an interrogation, with every detail recorded as if building a legal case. Management even uses ChatGPT to script their questions. During training, if you’re not looking at the speaker, they’ll walk behind you to see what you’re doing. I haven’t experienced that kind of micromanagement since high school.
It’s more controlling than many startups, and the mental strain is real. They also lowered the salary from the original offer right before I started. I’m glad to be done with this experience. Once again—remote doesn’t always mean good.
