      Pros

      Great coworkers, interesting project (re-vamping an intra-aortic balloon pump).

      Cons

      Scope of project reduced from full rebuild of device to just upgrading user interface, with corresponding cut to budget and staff - many of whom were just recently hired. There was also a bit of shifting requirements wherein making the user interface more intuitive ran up against keeping it working the way clinicians were used to with the previous generation device.

      Pros

      The opportunity to do meaningful work on a daily basis. Small enough facility where you can have a significant impact on daily operations and do a variety of work.

      Cons

      Lots of turnover, management has problems retaining employees. Minimal opportunities for training and advancement. Salary seems to be on the low end of the industry.
