Steer Clear of the Lab (Especially PreAnalytics)

Pros

Everyone that works alongside you in lab is super nice and great. Free snacks and barista.

Cons

If you're a lab worker, unlimited PTO isn't unlimited as only one person per team can be out of office. So if you're on a team with 20+ people, good luck trying to get a day off. No 401k matching. Management throws a lot of work at you while changing your workflow with minimal or no notice. Lack of support from management and their expectations from you are constantly changing. Don't work on any PreAnalytics teams (Accessioning, Order Processing, or Returns) as the upper management in that department is really bad and unsupportive. Also, at least in PreAnalytics, there's scheduled breaks and lunches -- so you have a "lunch time" like elementary school. You're guilted by your superiors to stay late, so work/life balance is bad.

Pros

They have baristas on site. 200hrs of PTO.

Cons

No 401k matching, management makes it difficult to move up in the company, their standards are always changing. If you work in the pre analytics team (order processing, returns, accessioning) or lab in general the management is the worst. Pay is low, they don't negotiate pay and don't match pay to the current rates.

Pros

-Free snacks and drinks (including a small cafe!) throughout the work day. -Lots of freedom in the company, you don't have to sit down at your desk or anything, you can work anywhere you want in the building. (There's also some very neat places.) -Culture at the company. Feels very encouraging and doesn't feel like there's a chip on your back.

Cons

-Pay. Despite raising over a billion dollars in funding and some sectors of the company experiencing triple digit growth, no pay raises or bonuses were given. The pay for the company is almost insultingly low. -Accountability. It is entirely possible to work an entire day doing below the bare minimum, which causes issues for the entire team. -Benefits are pretty bad. No 401k match, very little opportunity for overtime when needed (despite being told otherwise). Unlimited PTO is not unlimited for lab workers, and shift differentials are next to nothing.
