“Bully” culture seems to be a key word on Teneo’s glassdoor and I am kind of relieved that I am not the only one who felt like that. There is a strong click in the middle and senior management who are unsurprisingly comprised of white male. Don’t believe a thing about their “DEI” initiatives.
You could say the exact same thing as another white male colleague and your manager would dismiss you every time in a condescending tone, or cut you off in the middle of the line, and say that your other colleague is right. I hate to believe this could be true so I started jotting down each occasion word by word. At first I had tears, but as time went, the pattern is so obvious that it is like a troll in The Office.
Time in Teneo was very stressful and depressing because of that. I felt like I was an utter idiot and all the confidence dipped to none because whatever I said I was just dismissed, even if it was actually the “right answer” in the manager mind. I learned that these bully were reported multiple times before for similar behaviour but obviously nothing is done. In fact, these people were promoted really quickly to senior positions. That is just sad.
In this firm, only sales matter. If a person can bring sales, they could do whatever they want with no repercussions.
I spent lots of time with psychotherapist to heal from that experience. I left to a much more prestigious consulting firm. I am glad to say that Teneo bully culture was an exception.
